Seven prompts, seven challenges, seven days!
The #readingrush2020 lasted for seven days, from the 20th to the 26th of July! This readathon was my second one and I have to admit, that I was not as successful as I would have wished for. One reason because of that was, that I have been on holiday with my family for the whole week, which means I had not had so much time on my own, especially not for reading. Even tho I managed to read four books!
- total pages read: 1.783
- finished books: 4
- instagram challenges: day one and three
- finished prompts: four to seven
Like the last time I had a lot of fun choosing my tbr pile based on the prompts. I always search for more books then I should, so I will still have a selection to choose from.
- Read a book matching the color of your birth stone: Wings by Aprilynne Pike
- Read a book that starts with the word „The“: The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu
- Read a book that inspired a movie you’ve seen: PS: I still love you by Jenny Han
- Read the first book you touch: Mortal Engines – Krieg der Städte von Philip Reeve
- Read a book completely not in your house: Dream Maker – Liebe von Audrey Carlan
- Read a genre that scares you or your least read genre: A study in charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro
Der Todeskünstler von Cody McFadyen
- Read a book that takes place on a different continent than yours: Hibiskustage von Sabine Lay
Day ONE /// monday
Happy #readingrush2020 Day 1! Today’s Instagram challenge is: Recreate a Book Cover! #rrbookcover 🌴🌺☀
I choose my #currentlyreading aka my book choice for the 7th prompt: read a book that takes place on a different country than yours!
„Hibiskustage“ is set in Hawaii and I absolutely love it – I really wanna go there one day. I just really love the cover, it gives me all the vacation and summer vibes. I tried my best to recreate the setting, at least the water looked a little bit like I imagine the sea in Hawaii. 🌴🌺☀
Day THREE /// wednesday
Are you a dog or a cat person?
I really really love dogs. But I am definetly a cat person 🐈
happy #readingrush2020 day 3!! Today’s Instagram challenge is: Take a photo of your current read with your pet! #rrbookpet
Well I guess I cheated a bit with that one, because this is not my dog, but the one from a friend of mine who visited me in my hometown last week. Sadly, I’m not at home right now, so I can’t take a picture with my cat aka the love of my life 💘
But I will definetly post a bookish related photo with her soon!!
Btw I’m #currentlyreading my second book for the reading rush, I know I’m a bit behind but I have high hopes to still be able to read 7 books this week.
I enjoyed reading outside in the sun today, I just wish I could that everyday by the lake side. I could spent hours and hours reading outside my house, especially in summer.
Day FOUR /// Donnerstag
„The Face of Death“ by Cody McFadyen was SUCH A DAMN GOOD THRILLER. A very thrilling read that never lets up until the very last page. I just could not put this book down. I am currently so hyped for this series, when I will come home again, I will straight search for the third book in this series and instantly start reading it. Thriller fans, don’t let this book, actually these whole series pass you by.
Day SIX /// Saturday
Today is day six of the #readingrush2020 and I finally finished another book! Yay! This read included two challenges: number 4 and 5. I read „Mortal Engines – Krieg der Städte“ von Philip Reeve in one sitting, I just wanted to know what’s going on. Sadly this means I started a new series even tho I wanted to finish more than starting new one’s this year. Let’s see how this will work out in the second half of the year.
Also the book is very thin, lol it is the one with the least pages from my tbr pile for this readathon. I rated it with 3.5 out of 5 stars!
Since I was so attached to the storyline, I had to watch the movie right afterwards. I really hope the other books will be turned into movies aswell.
LAST Day /// Sunday
I started and finished this book with 488 pages today!! What a huge success for my rating! Also I am really proud, because this means I finished another series and it is my 90th book this year.
I did not enjoy this one as much as I the third book in this series, but still I enjoyed reading it. I am full of mixed emotions. I am so sad this series is over but it was a blast reading those books. This last book brings the series full circle and it made me so so happy for the whole IG team and their families! Mostly for THE DOGS I AM SORRY BUT I JUST LOVE how they ended up saving and loving them. One aspect that I loved about the „International Guy“ Series, is that it was just not Parker and Skyler, even though it was told from both of their perspectives. There were so many other stories that were being told, some really important topics aswell, unraveled and put back together.
